Ultradev was the predecessor to Dreamweaver MX. It was the first of the
server enabled 'Dreamweaver' versions, and was the successor to Macromedia's
Drumbeat. Starting in about 1998, the sequence of releases was -

UD1 -> UD4 -> DMX -> DMX2004

UD4 did not have the native ability to work with PHP, although I suppose you
could use it with your own hand coded pages. DMX2004 has native PHP server
behaviors included, and is the first of the Dreamweaver versions to do so.

Slight correction. Dreamweaver MX was the first version to support PHP,
although it had a smaller range of features than for ASP, CF, etc. MX
2004 now has the same range of features for PHP as for the other server
models.
