ISC DHCP - AIX

Hey there, Is anyone here using the ISC's DHCP server on AIX 4.3.2?? I'm trying to get it to work on mine and it compiles fine but runs really weird. (i.e. it doesn't respond to the clients asking for IP's.) am I missing any compile flags or "no -o" setting to make this respond to the MAC of the requestor rather than (weird weird weird) the MAC of the local default gateway? Thanks, -Ben...

    Default Re: ISC DHCP

I've never used ISC's DHCP server, but I did encounter one aspect of
DHCP implementation that lies outside the server itself.

Are the routers on your network programmed to forward UDP traffic to
the IP address your DHCP server listens on? Assuming that your network
is built on Cisco routers, you'll need to have your networking group
add the IP address of your DHCP server to the IP-helper-address list
of every router that the clients will pass through to get to your DHCP
    server.

DHCP requests are UDP traffic, and they'll be confined to the local
subnet, unless there's a IP-helper-address list in the router to
    direct it somewhere else.
