Java classpaths on Internet Explorer 5.2.2 - Mac Applications & Software

Im trying to get a java applet to run on internet explorer 5.2.2 for the mac and i keep getting the same error of a specific class (for regular expressions) not being found. The applet works fine on the latest version of safari that uses the classes from java 1.4.1. But internet explorer still uses the clases from 1.3.1, and ive tried changing the classpaths to point at java 1.4.1 , but it still isnt working. Am i changing the right thing or do i need to copy the .jar files to a different directory( their currently in System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.4.1/Classes. Thanks ...
