    Default Javascript variables to cold fusion

    I created variables in javascript and would like to have them available to me
    in cold fusion code. Does anyone know how I can do this? In the accompaning
    code I retrieved data from one frame into another using javascript. I then
    want to use that data as a datasource in the following cfquery. I'd appreciate
    any help in this area. Thank you.

    <script>
    testvbl =
    parent.frameVariables.document.formVariables.eleme nts.studentTeacher.value;
    </script>
    <cfquery name="qs_subjectClass" datasource="????" dbtype="ODBC" username="dba"
    password="sql">
    select subjectClassId,
    subjectClassName
    from t_subjectClass
    order by
    subjectClassName
    </cfquery>
    </cfoutput>

    Default Re: Javascript variables to cold fusion

    JS variables are client side objects, so they don't actually get interpreted by
    the CF server, they are interpreted by the client's web browser when the page
    is rendered. You would need to submit the value using a form to a cf page
    that just did the query portion, ie <cfquery name='qs_subjectClass'
    datasource='#form.studentTeacher#' dbtype='ODBC' username='dba' password='sql'>
    select subjectClassId, subjectClassName from t_subjectClass order by
    subjectClassName </cfquery> </cfoutput>
