    Default Jewel Paper Options

    What seems to be the most popular and easy to use paper to use for printing CD jewel cases?

    Depends on what you're trying to achieve. I've done a couple one-offs
    using Hamermill's Color Laser Gloss. Very good results.

    Thanks Robert,

    I'm basically trying to print some CD case covers using inDesign. My problem is that I can't seem to find paper that has a preset I can put into the program so I can simply hit print. I've used Memorex. However, it's always hit and miss.

    There has to be a more simpler way.

    So you're looking for precut paper? AFAIK, there's nothing out there
    that comes with "templates."

    As Dov pointed out in the other thread, you'll need to waste a sheet.

    The only "workaround" I can think of is to use a Word template for one
    of the Avery sheets, and place it in ID. But I still suspect you'll have
    some manual tweaking to do.

    There are plenty of CD label templates out there. Go to the Adobe Studio and check in the ID sections. I found a bunch there that I use.

    Photocopy your "precut sheet" and use the copies to line up a template
    of your own, or use regular paper and cut them yourself.

    It appears to be called the Exchange now:

    <http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/>

    It used to be called the Studio Exchange and people routinely shortened that to the Studio.

    It's accessed via the Download links.

    Oh my God. I guess the changeover to the (Macromedia) "Exchange" just happened in the past day or so.

    <http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx/.ef32d01/>

    I thought the old studio exchange was clunky ... the new Exchange takes forever to load, forever to scroll, forever for a drop-down menu to appear ... on my Mac at least.

    An unresizeable iFrame ... all that Flash junk. Argh!

    It HAS to be a work in progress. I just tried a search for all InDesign scripts, Mac platform, it found 229, the first few screens worth offering only a Windows (not Mac) download link.

    Egads.

    Wrong thread for this, I know. Sorry.

    Anne-Marie,

    You're right. I did a search for labels on the Mac platform. All I recieved were windows. In fact, any search on mac brings up windows items.

    Concerning aligning templates for printing....

    I've desiged the CD cover to fit in the template. However, inDesign appears to only allow me to place the printing in the left, vertical center, horizonal center, and centered.

    My CD paper needs it to be centered on the top. How do I move the printing area around so it can print on the top center?

    Thanks
