    Default Jitter Lines

    Hello,

    Is there a jitter lines function in illustrator, or plugin.

    I want to import .dwg drawings in, and apply a similiar technique as in sketchup - but would rather use the added capabilities of illustrator for further graphical techniques.

    Thanks

    I'm not sure what a jitter is, but you can roughen a line, or zig and zag it.

    Take a look at Filter-->Transform or Effects-->Distort & transform

    How about Effect>Stylize>Scribble? This would be in Illustrator CS.

    Steve,

    There is nothing that will reproduce that effect cleanly. Your best bet is to create a series of brush strokes you can apply to the lines and manually create the sketched look. This means you'll have to apply the brush strokes to each line individually and in many cases extend lines to create the sketched intersection of lines look sketch-up is popular for. Roughen and Scribble will only make your work look like someone with a shaky hand drew it.

    Thanks all.

    I think a lot of architectural personnel could find this a useful function in the future.
