How in the world did you get that idea? A simple search of the archives
of this group would have shown you that spammer headhunters aren't
welcome here. And you can't "delete" from usenet.

That depends on your newsreader. Most have the
option of cancelling your own posts, but note that
not all NSPs honor cancellation requests no matter
    who they are from.

You posted through Google Groups. With them
you can open your own post, "Show options" and
    their is a "Remove" click.

The removal will not propagate any faster than the
posting itself and you can't do anything about the
    responses.

Dave's right and wrong on this IMO.

Right - On UeNet it's standard to read a few weeks before
posting and to skim the archives. You should have
learned that recruiting posts are off topic and roundly
    condemened.

Wrong - Trying to cancel your own posts at least shows
you're sincere in addition to clueless. The way I see it
sincere beats clueless because clueless is curable
through training as an adult while sincere takes training
    during childhood.

    <googlegroups.com>,
    com wrote:

May not be possible. There is a FAQ posted monthly (on the 15th) to the
    newsgroups news.admin.net-abuse.bulletins, news.admin.net-abuse.usenet,
    news.admin.net-abuse.sightings, news.admin.net-abuse.misc, and news.answers
in four parts with the title "Cancel Messages: Frequently Asked Questions"
(last modified September 1999) that speaks to this. Bottom line - a lot of
    news server ignore _all_ cancels.

Let's start with RFC1855, and while you're at it, find RFC2635 (not
really applicable here, but worth reading) and RFC3098. You're posting
from Google, so you should be able to use the search engine and find copies
    all over the net.

1855 Netiquette Guidelines. S. Hambridge. October 1995. (Format:
TXT=46185 bytes) (Also FYI0028) (Status: INFORMATIONAL)

2635 DON'T SPEW A Set of Guidelines for Mass Unsolicited Mailings and
Postings (spam*). S. Hambridge, A. Lunde. June 1999. (Format:
TXT=44669 bytes) (Also FYI0035) (Status: INFORMATIONAL)

3098 How to Advertise Responsibly Using E-Mail and Newsgroups or - how
    NOT to $$$$$ MAKE ENEMIES FAST! $$$$$. T. Gavin, D. Eastlake 3rd, S.
Hambridge. April 2001. (Format: TXT=64687 bytes) (Also FYI0038)
    (Status: INFORMATIONAL)

Notice - they aren't "STANDARD"s, but are in the line of "free clues".
RFC1855 specifically recommends reading a group for a _month_ before
posting to it. It's quite obvious you didn't do that (and truthfully, not
many do). RFC1855 and RFC2635 speak of 'charters' which deal with the
purpose of the individual newsgroup - did you try to look for the charter
for this group before posting? Here's what the monthly "List of Big Eight
    Newsgroups" says about this group:

    comp.unix.admin Administering a Unix-based system.

Nothing about "offering jobs". Hmmm... there are few groups in the big eight
where job offers are acceptable. You might look at the news server operated by
your ISP, and see what groups it carries. It varies quite a lot. I have access
to three news servers - one has only 233 groups with the word 'jobs' in the
title - another has 610, and the third has 1157. Posting from your company
account via a real news server rather than google makes you look less like a
newbie trying to find their first gig.

That's fine. Hopefully you learned from it. Another clue - your post is for
a job in Morristown, NJ in the USA. This newsgroup goes world wide. Are you
offering relocation - or at least travel expenses? Are you going to provide
the appropriate visa for foreign nationals? Or might this more applicable to
    a group like "nj.jobs" "nyc.jobs.*", or even "ny.jobs"?
