Default Join a query datasource and oledb datasource?

    Using CF5 here.

I have a query that I'm creating on the fly using the QueryNew() and
QueryAddRow() functions. Then I run my query using dbtype="Query".

Is there a way that I can perform a join between this dynamic query, and a
standard data table residing in MS SQL? Typically I use dbtype="OLEDB" for
    this other table.

    Thanks for any suggestions!

Default Re: Join a query datasource and oledb datasource?

You cannot join these tables directly due to limitations in both SQL and CF.

You can query SQL, returning a superset, and then use query of queries on both
the CF query and the sql superset.
This approach works great for some situations but can be terribly inefficient
    for others.

However, since you are using SQL Server, you can create a temporary table or a
local table variable instead of creating your query in CF. You CAN join that
table in SQL calls. And, creating ad-hoc tables/queries is so much easier
with SQL syntax than with those CF functions.
