    Default JPEG or PNG

    Hi All,

While being aware that .jpeg files will uncompress when opened or used in a projector, what is the situation with .png files?
They may not be as small as a compressed .jpeg but are they compressed and do they expand in the same way?

    Regards

    Default Re: JPEG or PNG

Any type of file needs to be decompressed/decrypted/decoded before it can be
used. So, no matter what kind of file you use, the same amount of memory
will be needed at runtime. The only differences are the size of your
movie/projector and the time director will need to decompress the file. And,
in general, the only reason we use compression is because -almost always-
decompressing is much-much faster than downloading. Well, this and storage
    space.
