JS Errors, missing links, can't connect to WebDAV
[[Mac Version]] I've been using Contribute 3.1 on OS 10.3 (Panther) and 10.4
(Tiger) without incident. My hard drive recently crashed and I had to
reinstall Contribute over OS 10.4 - it was previously installed over OS 10.3
and I then upgraded to 10.4. Since then I've been experiencing several errors
that render the software unusable. The first of these errors is when
Contribute starts up, I receive the following error:
"The following JavaScript error(s) occurred: Unable to open script file
'...Macromedia Contribute 3:Configuration:Shared:MM:Scripts:Cmn:Ul.js' (error
2). I've verified that this file does exists.
Second, the Back and Stop button icons are showing as missing links in the
toolbar. I was also able to verify that those .jpg files exist in the
/Applications/Macromedia Contribute 3/Configuration/Toolbars/images/mac folder.
Third, and most important, I'm unable to connect to my sites. I have 2 .mac
accounts and when I try to connect to them or edit them in the My Connections
window I receive the following message:
"The server gave an unknown response. Please try the operation again or
contact your administrator."
I have the WebDAV address as "http://idisk.mac.com/cchoa/Sites/" and I believe
this is the correct format for WebDAV.
I uninstalled and reinstalled Contribute twice and I'm still having the same
issues. Any help that anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: JS Errors, missing links, can't connect to WebDAV
You will see that I have just posted a similar message. When I get the message
"The server gave an unknown response.. ..etc/" I just go ahead and try to
connect again and it always works. I don't like that this happens all the time
but it does. When I installed Tiger in my new computer and then copied all the
files to the new computer was, I think, when this new wrinkle appeared.

Re: JS Errors, missing links, can't connect to WebDAV
I tried reconnecting several times without results. I'm wondering if it has to
do with the JS file not loading at startup. I posted the same message to the
connection forum in hopes that I'll get some help from there. Thanks for you
response! It's a shame you can't contact Micromedia about a malfunction with
one of their products without being charged. I guess they assume that their
products or flawless and that it's user error. How arrogant.
