karaoke HELP!
Hi,
Has anybody ever tried using Flash MX to produce a karaoke-video?
I'm currently working on one, which I've made by importing a MP3-file into a
layer in Flash, and then in other layers I have some images and the lyrics,
which I've carefully placed so that they change in accordance with the
music.
Now to the problem: In a separate layer I have a small dot, which is
supposed to jump from one word in the lyrics to the other following the
music. This seems to work ok, except that every now and then, when I view
the generated swf-file, the syncronization fails, and everything looks
stupid. (This is from one complete playing of the entire swf to the next -
not withing the same 'session')
I dont see any pattern, except I presume it's got something to do with
caching or disc access?
Does anybody know if it's possible to sync sound and video? This is not
supposed to be played on the net, so bandwidth is not really an issue.
Thanks!

Re: karaoke HELP!
Do you have your sound set as an event or a stream? Make sure it is set to
stream in the properties box.

Re: karaoke HELP!
I would use ActionScript to synchronize dot w/ music and later use timcode
table to moving dot in the 'showtime'...
but it's only theory because i've never tried this :)
however this solution could be better, becase it'll let you to quick adding
many another songs without creating animations for everyone

Re: karaoke HELP!
ToonBoom would allow you to setup this with no problems of syncranization.
