KDE preferences? configuration? - Linux Setup, Configuration & Administration

When my rh8.0 booted up the first time, I opened up Konqueror and it had a box on the left with the tree in it, and it had the menu bar across the top, the one that says file, view, tools etc. So, I started clicking things thinking it'd be no problem getting back to the way things were at the start. Wrong! How do I get my tree back? And the menu bar? I've right and left-clicked everything I can see. I've rebooted. I've opened up fresh Konguerors. I went into the configure menu in the upper left-hand corner. ...

    Default KDE preferences? configuration?

When my rh8.0 booted up the first time, I opened up Konqueror and it
had a box on the left with the tree in it, and it had the menu bar
across the top, the one that says file, view, tools etc. So, I started
clicking things thinking it'd be no problem getting back to the way
things were at the start. Wrong!

How do I get my tree back? And the menu bar? I've right and
left-clicked everything I can see. I've rebooted. I've opened up fresh
Konguerors. I went into the configure menu in the upper left-hand
    corner.

    No luck.

    Can anybody help? TIA

Normally (depending on your keyboard shortcuts configuration), ctrl+m
toggles the menu bar in KDE programs. To get back the navigation tree,
press F9 or use the "Windows" menu. Next, you should save the current
profile so that konqueror will remember your settings.

    best regards
