    I'm not familiar with debian but crt1.o is in the glibc package.
    Don't know if it is in the devel package on a debian system.

    Did you installing ncurses-dev? As far as I know it is needed to make
    menuconfig.

    Got it a step more after much reading..... reinstalled my libc6...and
    ncurses-base and term and dev.....grrrr now the message is a bit
    different....

    Any ideas? Thanks
