Try to find a copy of Acrobat 6 Professional. (It's not being sold by Adobe any more, unfortunately.) The problem is not yet fixed.

What most people are doing is backing down to version 6.5.2 of Quicktime. Apple provides a de installer of 7 and re installer of 6.5.2. As far as I know this version of Quicktime is compatible with OS X 10.4.2. Here that is...

Also many people don't realize that Acrobat version 6 has almost 99% of the media JavaScript that version 7 does. It is an interesting behavior of Adobe policy that they loaded all of this code in 6 and then only told those people who purchased an ASN membership. Yes that's right Adobe thinks its not enough that to you purchase the software... another fine moment in Adobe credibility.

Unfortunately, Tiger (OS X 10.4.x) is NOT compatible with QuickTime 6.x. That's the bad problem. Not a problem in Panther where you can back down to QuickTime 6.5.2.

I had hoped that Acrobat 7.02 would fix the problem, but we'll have to wait until the next Acrobat update.

However, Acrobat 6 if you have it does run under Tiger and doesn't have the problem.

Steve, that truly sucks! I can't think of a better example of the rock and the hard place. You need 10.4.2 to stabilize Tiger and you need 6.5.2 to work with Acrobat 7.

Thus your advice about using 6... duh.

Steve, do you know why Apple is only providing this for 10.3.9? Are there other problems with this combination other than Acrobat?

Thanks for all the advice here...I've been running into this problem too.

I run Tiger, and therefore cannot downgrade to QT 6.5.2, but where do I find Reader 6 to install on my system? I have CS2 installed with Acrobat Pro. 7.

I also have the original CS, is it possible to install just the reader off of it? I didn't want to uninstall Acrobat 7...
