Konqueror slow, Firefox fast
Hej,
I have Kubuntu Breezy running on AMD 64. If I use the browser konqueror, I can
only surf very slowly the net. It takes a horrible long time for konqueror to
connect to a page. On the other hand if I use firefox, it is very fast page
loading as I expect it on a DSL line.
Both browsers use the same internet connection. Are there any settings like
timeout times or DNS lookup, which may slow down konqueror?

Konqueror seems to be having trouble realizing that the proxy has just
been turned off and in those cases, it behaves like you described.
Unfortunately, I have not yet had the time to take a closer look at this.

bar? This will hint whether it is a DNS issue.

Firefox. So what can cause this? I have no special proxy settings in konqueror.
I never configured anything special there.

Try
KDE_NO_IPV6=true in your /etc/environment, then restart. Worked for me.
