Lacking recent files in 'File' menu
The list of recent files in the 'Files' menu is static and inactive.
It simply states 'Recent File' (greyed out).
I am using acrobat standard edition 6.0.1 on a Windows XP platform.
Any suggestions, or am I facing a bug?

Re: Lacking recent files in 'File' menu
Works fine on my XP system, so it's not a bug.
Are you on any kind of a corporate network? Are you restricted from making changes to your computer, such as a custom desktop wallpaper?
The recent files list is stored in the registry. Chances are you've been locked out of making the registry changes necessary for the recent file list to populate. Talk to your IT dept if it's a critical need.

Re: Lacking recent files in 'File' menu
No, I am on a local machine.
I have administrative rights, and was logged in as myself during the installation.
Consequently, I am able to update registry entries.
Could you indicate the key in the registry. Then I may check whether the entry is actually there.

Re: Lacking recent files in 'File' menu
I have had the same problem for about a month. After an hour+ with tech support, two different reps through up their figurative hands saying, "I don't know." Their suggestion was that it was a programming issue (i.e., talking to programmers to find the correct registry entry to delete), but they WOULD NOT forward this problem to programming!
FWIW, this is the kind of "it's not our problem" response I've come to expect from Microsoft, but NOT Adobe. Has Adobe abandoned it's commitment to good service, too?

Re: Lacking recent files in 'File' menu
Perhaps this helps a little bit:
<http://groups.google.de/groups?hl=de&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&newwindow=1&q=%22recent+files%22&btnG=Suche&meta =group%3Dadobe.acrobat.windows>
Under "Re: Files history" (I gave some responds) you will find the (binary) registry keys and how you can influence it.
