I work w a non-profit org which is now managing its web
site developed using ASP.NET & hosted by an ISP which has
stated no changes have been made to its server or the
ASP.NET installation since we've been experiencing the
problem below. My desktops all run Windows XP with the
latest SPs and Security Patches.

PROBLEM: When editing an HTML document, I highlite a
word/word(s)to change the format - color e.g. - and if I
must click on the scroll bar to go to the tool bar of the
HTML editor, my highliting is lost. This problem did not
surface until after I had updated with the latest
cumulative patch (KB824145) for IE6 SP1 on 12 NOV 03. If
I use a machine running W98 w IE5, the highlighting
doesn't disappear and I can proceed with the color
change. I've just recently tested with a machine on which
IE6 SP1 doesn't have patch KB824145 and the highliting
did not disappear.

I'm not sure where to turn for assistance so any
suggestions will be appreciated. Since I'm not running
ASP.NET, I have no way of knowing if there were security
patches for it issued on/about 11 NOV 03.
