Layer Problem
I am currently building a site and run into a slight problem...
Here is the address:
http://216.127.68.81/~admin11/index.php
Here is the issue:
when the 'Student Centre' pull down menu in the main banner is activated - (the one on the right). The layer falls down behind the 'Next Free Info Session' pulldown menu form(the form is not in a layer - just part of the page). This glitch only appears on Windows browsers.
I have tried putting the form in a layer - but still have the same problem.
Can anyone help or run across this problem before??
Thanks in advance

Re: Layer Problem
All Active content on a page will always rise to the top, so to speak,
including Flash, certain form elements, Java applets, and Active X controls.
This means that they do poke through layers. There is not a good
cross-browser/platform reliable way to solve this issue, but if you can be
confident in your visitors using IE 5+ or NN6+, then you can use the CSS
wmode parameter. Doesn't work in all browsers (NN4) but it's implemented
into latest netscape:

Nico:
Academically interesting. Practically useless -
" This control requires no download of any kind. Even better, this control
is part of the windows operating system. It is the same control you use day
after day in your windows applications. "
Why would you use something like that?

Re: Layer Problem
Simple, you wouldn't :-) Unless ofcourse, you are developing a website or
webapplication that will only be visited by windows users (e.g inhouse
development of an intranet application).
I posted the link not as much for the solution as for the explanation of the
problem: the difference between the windowed and windowless elements. I once
found a much better article on the subject, but can't seem to find it
anymore.

Layer Problem
Today I purchased a new domain name and some new webspace for a site that I am
creating. My website is basically a .gif file that serves as my backround and
links that direct to an iframe. I centered the image and put the Iframe into a
layer. My problem is that whenever the website is viewed, it looks fine when
the window is fully maximized but when I shrink the window the iframe looks
like it is moved. I realized that it isn't the iframe that is moving its the
image in the backround staying centered. I was wondering if anyone could help
me with some sort code to lock the iframe to the .gif image? Or to somehow
move with the backround? Here is the site, check it out. I just started it
today so there is no content obviousley. Mess around with the window size to
see what im talking about. Any help is greatly appreciated because I have no
idea :/
