    Default Layer visibility

When bleeding images I take the image 1/8 inch beyond the trim size to ensure a full bleed. In order to better view the final cropping (page box borders are not visible through the image) I placed a red line box with no fill around the trim edges on the master pages. The box is on a separate layer that will be deleted before I send to print.

The box is visible on some pages and not on others. The same master is associated with all pages.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong to make them visible? Or perhaps a better approach to the problem altogether?

I enjoy the forum. Thanks for your input.

What version of ID? ID CS has a bleed guide built in.

Bummer. Master items have to be on a page in order to show up on the

Why not just skip the red box and use preview mode to see the trim result?

Preview mode does work well for viewing the final trimmed result. But it doesn't help with how much is left beyond the trim and the dynamic process of cropping, which is what I'm concerned with in layout. I was just looking for an way to see the page edge in normal mode with a graphic arranged on top of it.

As soon as this issue is done I'll upgrade to CS and hopefully that will solve the issue. Thanks for the input.
