Default Layers in PSD-files within ID

    Hello.

Is there a possibility to view and to switch on and off layers of PSD-files
within ID? At Alap I saw a plugin for Quark with such features, but none for
ID? Could this be done with a script or else?

No, that isn't a native function, ID always uses the actual visibility
    settings..

with native PSD support, I doubt this will sell good only for the fact that
you can directly alter the layers in this tool instead of just editing it in
    Photoshop.

You could open the file via script in Photoshop in the background and let
the script alter the settings there and resave the file, and then relink the
file in ID, all with a script. There is no other way to access the PSD
layers via script without a library that is able to change PSD files
directly which I didn't know it exists.

    Jens,

thanks for your answer. I'm wondering that a plugin for quark can do what
Adobe within it's own software-suite is not able to. I'm working often with
layers in PhotoShop and I often wished to have a simple possibility in ID to
activate/deactivate thoses layers. Imho it shouldn't be too difficult to add
    this feature...

Depending on what you are working this feature makes sense. As for instance,
trying out different background in a 500-MB-PSD withing an ID-document.

Well, I'll do an ID feature request - maybe we'll see it at ID 4...

Quark has no support whatsoever natively for PSD files. Even with that
XTension, AFAIK you still don't get support for transparent background.
