.LCK Automatically Applied - Not Good
Using Contribute CS3. It's been working fine - until a few days ago. Now,
when I edit a web page and then go to PUBLISH that page, Contribute says
"cannot connect to server" and I get timed out. Even worse, that page ends up
with a .lck extension and anyone browsing to that particular page gets a "page
not found." Using Contribute HELP, I've tried to override the file checkout
(i.e. delete the lock file), but I get an error message telling me "access is
denied: the file may not exist or there could be a permission issue."
The only work-around I've found is to use a different FTP program to DELETE
the .lck file and then to reinstall an older copy of that particular web page.
I am not in a multi-user environment. I am the only person with access to the
website and the only one using Contribute. So why is Contribute now
automatically applying this .lck extension and stopping me from Publishing a
page ??
Very frustrating....can anyone help?
Happy holidays.

Re: .LCK Automatically Applied - Not Good
I'm not sure, but it sounds like the web site still things that Contribute
still has it checked out for editing. I have had a number of "cannout connect
to server" problems, but they usually clear up if I try a few times. Otherwise,
you'd have to delete your draft, I guess.
