    Default LCK file problems

I have a site i try to edit with contribute 1.0. But when i publish
errormessage says "another user has removed your lock". I am the only user on
    this site.
I read help and try to delete .lck file but it creates a .lck.lck file, trying
to delete that creates a .lck.lck.lck file and so on.
    Help me!

CT is not very forgiving when it comes time to close out an editing
session. This lock issue usually happens when you exit Contribute by
using the "X" in the upper right of the CT window. You were probably
editing a file at the time or had opened a file but had either not
published the page or canceled the edit prior to exiting CT.

If you have some FTP software (like WS_FTP_LT) you can access the site
that way. You should be able to delete the .LCK file(s) via that path.
Once those .LCK files are deleted, you should again be able to access
    them for editing via CT

I found out that. I deleted all LCK files on server. I started contribute,
connected to site, opened a page and clicked edit. So far so good, but publish
failed with the message "Another user has removed your lock from the file".
Then I said Cancel anf file-Exit. When I connected to the server with ftp
there was a lck file again. I dont understand the message, since I am the only
    user of the site!

The more I think about this, it sounds as if you are either not
publishing or canceling your edit before you quit/exit CT. If that is
the case, then you should have a "draft" copy of that page in the "Pages
    | Draft Console" area of the CT window. You should be able to reopen
that draft by clicking on it to open. From there you should be able to
complete the edit and publish the page or cancel the edit. That should
then unlock the file for further use.

First time I quit without cancel. But I have deletet my draft, all lck files on
server and removed connection to server. Then I started again: Created
connection as administrator, downloaded at draft but problem occur when I click
publish. I still get the message "another user has removed your lock on the
file." Then I cancel and the lck-file remains on the server.
My main problem is I can not publish at all !! And I donīt understand why I
get this message when there is no other user of the site.

Well you have now gone beyond where I can only guess at issues and
solutions. It does suggest that there is something cached somewhere in
the bowels of CT. At one time with an earlier version of CT, I was told
to uninstall and reinstall CT. The problem with that was that I also
had to delete a file that resided in a folder completely removed from
CT. Unfortunately, I do not remember which file and where it resided.
I do remember that the .dll was a residual from a prior version that the
upgrade installer did not delete. While this doesn't directly apply to
this issue, it does show that the issue may be deeper that I'm ready or
    able to deal with.

Sorry, but that it from here. :-p

Well i tried. Uninstalled contribute, deleted alle folders on pc and on
server. Installed contribute again, connected to server, edited a page and same
problem occurred. Now I give up, I will try to find another product to use. But
thanks for trying to help me.
