Legacy Migrations
I am being asked to migrate and application from a 4.5 environment to a 5.0
environment. The client insists on this approach despite other advice to
upgrade to a current version.
I have a number of questions:
Is 5.0 still fully supported by Macromedia?
Is there a CodeAnalyzer function for this type of upgrade? It been so long
since I worked back that far, I don't remember that feature coming in till much
later. I'm hoping I am wrong about it?
The application was written sensitive to a Netscape browser, I'm moving it to
an IE browser. I recall there was an issue about onSubmit in IE. Did that
persist in version 5?
Is there a security checklist for the version 5 server or somewhere to look
for all the patches and hotfixes? I may not be able to access the person who
did the installation and documentation is said to be unavailable. I'd like to
verify the environment is as "up to date" (I shudder to ue the term) as
possible under the circumstance before I start.
I realize this is a very peculiar situation. It is one I'm being forced to
cope with. I can use some help.
