Level 2 post script setting isn't holding in ID2
A film outputter of mine is having problems with the pdfs I've been sending to them. Their printers can't handle post script level 3, and even though I'm setting it at level 2 in the print dialog box, they are getting level 3 elements in it.
What is the point of being able to select which level you want if it is completely ignored? Is there anything that I can do here to make sure this comes through as level 2? I can send a very basic document, but for some reason, it's reading things as level 3.

Re: Level 2 post script setting isn't holding in ID2
How exactly are you creating a PDF from your InDesign doc?
Note: If you have placed PDFs or EPSs in your Indesign doc that contain
level 3 PostScript, then when you print or export as level 2, those
elements will remain level 3.

Re: Level 2 post script setting isn't holding in ID2
It isn't a placed image that is causing the problem. It is a simple gradient. I can go from 100% black to 0% black, and that's level 3? So, gradients weren't possible at level 2? That seems to be a fairly primative element to be causing this level three jump.

I'm printing a .ps file from ID2.0.2, then distilling in acrobat 5.
