library problems with RH AS 2.1 - IBM DB2

We are starting to run DB2 on RH AS 2.1 after running on RH8. Everything seems to be fine except for our stored procedures. We are getting SQL0444s on them. In the diag log we saw references to not being able to open libstdc++.so.5. This lib does not exist, but we were able to work around it by building a link in /usr/lib to libstdc++.so. Now we are seeing the same message referencing libgcc_s.so.1. Again, this lib does not exist in our AS 2.1 environment. What are we doing wrong, that DB2 is looking for these libraries? thanks Jack...

Default library problems with RH AS 2.1

We are starting to run DB2 on RH AS 2.1 after running on RH8.
Everything seems to be fine except for our stored procedures. We are
getting SQL0444s on them. In the diag log we saw references to not
being able to open libstdc++.so.5. This lib does not exist, but we
were able to work around it by building a link in /usr/lib to
    libstdc++.so.

Now we are seeing the same message referencing libgcc_s.so.1. Again,
this lib does not exist in our AS 2.1 environment.

What are we doing wrong, that DB2 is looking for these libraries?

    thanks

    Hi Jack,

This may relate to info found at
    http://www.ibm.com/software/data/db2/linux/validate/

Some applications fail to run on Redhat AS 2.1 for IA64Redhat

AS 2.1 ships with gcc 2.96.
Applications that have been compiled with any other newer gcc libraries
such as gcc 3.2, may not run if older gcc library is installed.

Try upgrading your system’s gcc library (contact Redhat if needed to
ensure it does not affect your support contract if one is in place) or
alternatively, recompile your application with the older gcc level.

what versionof DB2 do you run ? libstc should only be necessary for DB2 V7 -
    or your SPs call them.
