Default LINE PATH QUESTION PLEASE !!!!!!!! ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY !!!!!!!!

    HI

First loet me say, I'm an idiot. Next let me say the people here are gods...so forgive this dumb question...here goes-

Let say that I have a square shape. Next, I add an anchor point in the middle of one of the lines on that square shape. Than I drag the middle anchor point, creating something that look like this " < " . How do I make it so that it looks more like this " C".

In other words, Im simply trying to "bend/ curve a line, when I drag on a middle anchor point. I tried the "round corners command" but that rounded the corners, which is opposite of what Im trying to do...bend whats inbetween the corners.

And also, and this is important, I can not use the ARCH TOOL because the line Im trying to bend is actually a line on a on square shape. I understand that the arc tool creates curved lines. But how do you bend a preexisting line, when you pull on it.

    THANKS

Draw your square or rectangle. Go to the pen tool and select the pen with the plus beside it. Click on the square where you want a new anchor point. Go back to the pen tool select the pen tool that looks like an arrow head or V. Go to your new anchor point-click and hold, then drag. New adjustment lines will appear. Pull them to where you want. If you need to re-select and and adjust use the hollow point tool. Click on the new anchor point and the adjustment lines will appear. Click on the end of the adjustment point and you can move it wherever you want. Hope this helps.

    Mike,

Use the Pen tool pull out and click the > "Convert Anchor Point tool" which allows bezier arms to extend from the point. It's not the point that bends but the line between the points that bend, so to have a good idea of how bezier works, you might either check your manual, or HELP (F1) and go to Index, Anchor Points, About.
