Lingo Control and the Sound Channel - Macromedia Director Lingo

Greetings. I hope someone can point me in the right direction. Is there a way to create the following scenario using Lingo: Sound playing in a single frame; Play head holding there while sound plays and then moves to next frame marker when sound is completed, allowing for full Lingo control on the stage during playback. In other words, doing what you can do with Cue Point in the Tempo channel but WITH Lingo control on the stage. There must be a way...I just can't find it. Thanks in advance....

Default Lingo Control and the Sound Channel

    Greetings.

I hope someone can point me in the right direction. Is there a way to create the following scenario using
    Lingo:

Sound playing in a single frame; Play head holding there while sound plays and then moves to next frame
marker when sound is completed, allowing for full Lingo control on the stage during playback.

In other words, doing what you can do with Cue Point in the Tempo channel but WITH Lingo control on
    the stage.

There must be a way...I just can't find it.

    Thanks in advance.

You mention cuePoints but you also mention that you just want the sound to
    finish so using the latter:

    on exitFrame me
    if sound (1).status = 3 then
    go to the frame
    else
    go to marker (1)
    end if
    end

you could also use the soundBusy Lingo, it doesn't matter. Of course, if
you're using a sound channel other than 1 the channel number would change
    appropriately.

The simplest possible way to do that is:

    on exitFrame
    if soundBusy(X) then
    go to the frame
    end if
    end

Where X is the sound channel that you're currently using.

    Rob,

That way he loses the flexibility of putting the next marker where he wants.
Your way, he's forced to put it right up against the sound frame.
