Link problem with cascading menus (MX v6)
Hi,
I am trying to create cascading menus with Dreamweaver MX (v6) but the links
that I enter into the link field are being truncated. I am trying to point to
content pages on a CMS website and therefore all of my links are long and use
the = (equals) character. I understand that = is considered a 'special'
character and I think that this is what's causing the problem.
Dreamweaver is keeping all text until the first = in the LINKS field. It then
takes text after the first = and places it into the TARGET field. All text
after the third = is lost. Here is an example link:
/Templates/frmTemplateL.asp?SubFolderID=248&SearchYN=N
Broken up like this: LINK: /Templates/frmTemplateL.asp?SubFolderID TARGET:
248&SearchYN
I have tried to replace the = character with Numerical code = but
Dreamweaver just turns it back to an = sign and creates the same problem.
Does anyone know how to solve this?
Thanks in advance,
Tobi

Re: Link problem with cascading menus (MX v6)
Can't explain why you mightbe having the problem you're having, but why don't
you put in the link details in codeview directly. I am using coldfusion and
dreamweaver and I have a lot of links with similar format aaa.cfm?id=30&gp=50
..... etc and I've never had any problems and I always use the code view.
Hope this helps

Update to DW6.1 at your earliest convenience, please.
You should never have files in the Templates folder other than the dwt> /Templates/frmTemplateL.asp?SubFolderID=248&SearchYN=N
templates themselves - why do you?

Re: Link problem with cascading menus (MX v6)
Thanks guys,
Mista: what version of DW are you using?
Murray ACE: > Update to DW6.1 at your earliest convenience, please.
- I presume from your response that this is some kind of bug in DW4......right?
/Templates/frmTemplateL.asp?SubFolderID=248&SearchYN=N
templates themselves - why do you?> You should never have files in the Templates folder other than the dwt
- I dont know what a DWT template is, but this link is to a database driven
content page on our website. The page (like all others on our site) was
created by our site manager program. Does this make sense?

Your subject line says you are using DW6 not DW4. Which is it? DW6.0 was> - I presume from your response that this is some kind of bug in

definitely a flawed release, yes.
No. The link references the /Templates/ folder -> - I dont know what a DWT template is, but this link is to a database

/Templates/frmTemplateL.asp?SubFolderID=248&SearchYN=N
and means that this file - frmTemplateL.asp - is IN the Templates folder.
It should not be.
It's a Dreamweaver Template.> - I dont know what a DWT template is
