Default Link To File From Computer Creating Broken Links

I am having an issue with Contribute I haven't seen before. I am administering
Contribute 3.11. Whenever someone tries to link to a file that is on their
computer, C3 isn't trying to put the file on our web server. It is creating a
link to the file relative to the user's computer. For example :
    c:\documents\desktop\filename.doc

Has anyone seen this before? Is it something in the administration panel or
Dreamweaver that could cause it? thanks for any help!

    Hi,

Not sure.. Is this happening for any specific user role of your
website? Does administrator of your site also face this problem?
Until this problem is resolved, you can follow a quick work around to
get rid of this problem. Use File->Publish File From my Computer, Browse
to filename.doc and select the site and publish the dependent file.
Later, edit the page where you want to create link and select link
and try Link->Browse to Webpage, Browse to the document.

    Thanks
    Arun
