Link to file without upload
I am using v4 and am having a hard time inserting a link to a file on a shared
drive ie: file:\\apfs\file name. Contribute wants to upload this file to the
server before it will link it. Seeing as I don't allow any uploads to the
server I keep getting an error message and contribute changes the link to
"unknown:" I've searched the Adobe site and this forum and haven't found an
answer yet. Is this a bug or something I am just missing?

Insert->Link->Browse to Web Page, In the URL Address, Enter the URL as
file:\\apfs\file name.... and click ok..
This way you would be creating only a link to the file and it does not
get uploaded to the server..
hope this solves your problem
Thanks

Re: Link to file without upload
When I do this it automatically changes the link to "unknown"... Any other ideas?

Re: Link to file without upload
Has anyone found a solution to this issue? I'm facing the same problem and, short of having the developer hard code the link, I see no way to do this.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Link to file without upload
Any solution to this? I've tried everything, and it keeps either uploading the
file, or just putting unknown in the url, or change C: to C| which obviously
messed up the link. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
