Default Link to files on the network

Is it possible to have Contribute not update/resolve and upload a
local/networked file link?

I have a link like the following:
file:///J|/Library/Dept/CM/Statistics.xls

as the href for an anchor link...

However, when I publish the page, Contribute converts the link to a site link
like this and uploads the file to the site directory:
http://mysite.com/documents/Statistics.xls

So basically I'm looking for a way to keep my link as a file:/// link and not
have the upload occur.

Any ideas on how to get around this?

Thanks very much for all your help,
Greg

Default Re: Link to files on the network

Hi Greg,

Contributes functionality is to upload the relevant files to the server and
re-write the links so that they work fine. The link will be broken if the link
still points the local path as the file would not be available in the server.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
