linked text boxes on master pages?

Hey Guys

Im having a small problem figuring out how to do something. I have a master page with facing pages and I put text boxes on both and then linked them, so now how do i make it so when i make pages based of this master page that I can automatically have the text boxes active and be able to flow text throughout the pages i made? Cause right now I have to ctrl-shft click to get the text box active and then the text i import wont flow it just is on the one page and i have to manually flow it etc.

any ideas?

You're going at it backwards. Don't activate the text frames before using File/Place. Instead, use File/Place and when you have the cursor over the master text frame it'll change its shape to show a pair of brackets. At this point, hold down the shift key and click.
