linker and application libraries for 5.0.7 - SCO

I recently upgraded to 5.0.7 from 5.0.6. The gnu compiler and tools required installation of the OpenServer linker and application development libraries on 5.0.6, which were on one of the installation CDs. I installed the gnu development system during the 5.0.7 install, but couldn't find theOpenServer linker and application development libraries on the 5.0.7 CDs. Where do I find them, and is there any doentation on setting the various PATH variables for the development binaries and libraries on 5.0.7? Thanks, David P. Lurie...

Default linker and application libraries for 5.0.7

    I recently upgraded to 5.0.7 from 5.0.6.

The gnu compiler and tools required installation of the OpenServer linker
and application development libraries on 5.0.6, which were on one of the
    installation CDs.

I installed the gnu development system during the 5.0.7 install, but
couldn't find theOpenServer linker and application development libraries on
    the 5.0.7 CDs.

Where do I find them, and is there any doentation on setting the various
PATH variables for the development binaries and libraries on 5.0.7?

    Thanks,

    David P. Lurie

The package is called "SCO OpenServer Linker and Application Development
Libraries (ver 5.2.0Aa)" and you should find it on your OSR507 operating
system install CD. On my CD, it's the 12th item on the menu,
immediately after three items labeled "SCO OpenServer Host System ...".

I'm not sure what you're trying to ask here.

The OpenServer DS lives in /usr/ccs/bin, so you want that on your path.
Even if you've only installed the free portion, many of its binaries
    live there.

The man page cc(CP) doents the "-Y pass, dir" flag, which can tell it
where to find its various subprograms and files. But it doesn't really
apply if you aren't using that `cc` program. I'm not sure if you will
have the text of cc(CP) on your system; I suspect it will not be
installed as part of the Linkers package. Man pages that you don't have
can be found on the SCO Doentation web site; for instance,

    http://docsrv.sco.com:507/en/man/html.CP/cc.CP.html

Wipe your glasses, or clean your screen. :-)

Running custon=>software=>install against the Base OSR 5.0.7 CD, I clearly
see, in the middle of the list of available packages,

SCO OpenServer Linker and Application Development Libraries

Thanks, don't see how I missed that on the initial install.

Just what are you thanking anyone for? What was it you missed?

I overlooked the linker and application development libraries on the base CD
for some reason when I installed 5.0.7.

They installed today without any problem.

Anyone that wants to compile mysql 4.0.15a will also need FSU-pthreads 3.9
and ar from the skunkware ftp site.
