    Default linking a notebook to a desktop

    You can do it with a cable alone but the cable needs to
    be a special cable with two of the pairs of wires in it
    reversed. We call it a crossover cable and your local
    computer store ought to be able to fix you up if you just
    tell them what you're trying to do.
