Default Linking causes inaccurate page over file size limitmessage

As an administrator I have set up a user role in Contribute so that the members
of that role cannot link to pages over 150Kb.

However for some reason when they try and create links to some pages they get
the message saying that they cannot link to them as they are over 150KB even
when they are definitely not over 150KB in size.

I have done some experimentation and Contribute will allow them to link to the
files that are located within the same folder as the page they are linking
from. It will also allow them to link to files that are located in sub-folders
to that one as well. However the error message reappears when trying to link to
files saved above that file in the directory structure.

There are no restrictions on access to specific folders.

So to summarise if I have three identical pages in root, a sub folder and a
sub-sub folder all under 150KB and I open the one contained in the sub folder,
Contribute will allow me to link from it to the page in the sub-sub folder but
not to the page in root.

This would seem to be a permissions problem but I cannot see why it manifests
itself as the file exceeds the permistted file size.

Has anybody else come across this or knows of a solution?

    Thanks

Default Re: Linking causes inaccurate page over file size limitmessage

Where in ctb can you specify a linking size limit? I'm getting the same type of
error you are, but mine says I have a file size limit of 500K. I don't have
that specified anywhere. I do however have a 100K image size limit specified.
