I don't know if this will help, but given that there's no way to do it in the
GUI, it might be the way to go...
When I need to add affiliate links to my posts, I use the Insert > HTML
Snippet dialog to paste in all the code. The code I get is always complete, so
it's just a matter of placing the cursor correctly, but then I can change the
text of the link in the editor without mucking up the underlying affiliate code.
So, with that, if you've got the code for your rollovers, alt text, maybe
status bar effects (like if you create the code in DW or something), you can
just use that Insert > HTML Snippet dialog.
