All of a sudden I'm having a problem with links in my website. I'm using dreamweaver 8. Here is an example of what is happening. Lets say my website is www.site.com and lets say I put a link on a page to something like www.cnn.com. What will come up when you go to click on the link is http://www.site.com/www.cnn.com Can anyone help me fix this? Thanks...

You need to have "http://" on the front of that.

    hi,

i have the same problem as evader. HOWEVER, the coding is correct. for
example, it says <a href="www.website.ca">website</a> BUT when you click on
the link in the actual website, it adds my own website URL infron of the link
    URL.

it will open a new browser and the URL in the browser becomes
    www.mysite.com/www.website.com
which is why ALL my external links won't work. only the links within my site
works (from my "home" page to "contact" page etc.)

does anyone know how to fix this? i think it's a problem in some sort of
setting. i also couldn't view my site in a browser without uploading it.

i'm hoping someone will respond as soon as possible as this is really urgent.
    THANKS!!!

So instead of your link being <a href="www.site.com">Site</a> it needs to be <a href="http://www.site.com">Site</a>.
