Linux Webcam - Linux Setup, Configuration & Administration

Can i get some inputs on well suported webcams under linux with a good picture under hi/low light? I wish the 3com webcam had better drivers under linux thats the ultimate cam, but doesnt adjust to well to light. But they are trying! Thanks Arron...

    Philips webcams are supported quite well, there is native support and, if
    you want, an additional binary only module to handle compression. See
