Linux/Windows Problems - Linux Setup, Configuration & Administration

Hello, I'm new to Linux and found that I botched the SuSE install to my Windows ME machine. SuSE seems to be very happy and no problems running. WinME on the other hand won't boot up anymore. DOS fdisk shows that no operating sys. is installed on the windows partition. My question Can I just reformat the windows partition and re-install windows or do I need to partition the drive again as one big drive then format then windows and finally re-install SuSE Like I said I'm new to Linux so I apologize if this is a really dumb question. ...

    Default Linux/Windows Problems

    Hello,

I'm new to Linux and found that I botched the SuSE install to my Windows ME
machine. SuSE seems to be very happy and no problems running. WinME on the
other hand won't boot up anymore. DOS fdisk shows that no operating sys. is
installed on the windows partition. My question Can I just reformat the
windows partition and re-install windows or do I need to partition the
drive again as one big drive then format then windows and finally
    re-install SuSE

Like I said I'm new to Linux so I apologize if this is a really dumb
    question.

    Thanks-in-Advance

Well very well then I will hazzard a guess,

I think partitioning the drive with three partitions one for windows and one
Linux with the last one being the swap partition. should work.

    Hope you get this solved.

If I'm following you, you already have separate partitions for Linux and
Windows. If so, then, yes, you can reformat only the Windows partition
and reinstall Windows. However, make sure you have a Linux rescue disk
(bootable cd) as Windows will wipe out the boot record and you'll have
to reinstall it with LILO or grub (which ever one you're running). If
you do a google search, you'll find instructions on how to do that.

May I add a *WORKING* rescue disk. Test it first.
