Liquid Faux Columns - Macromedia Dynamic HTML

Hi folks, I am new here and I have little experience in using forums. So I hope I am not doing so bad and someone can give me a quick help, which can push my work faster. Default Liquid Faux Columns

    Hi folks,

    I am new here and I have little experience in using forums. So I hope I am not
    doing so bad and someone can give me a quick help, which can push my work
    faster. I did try Zoe Gillenwater´s explanations but it doesn´t work by any
    reason. Some practical help would be nice.

    Well, I am just using a liquid 3 column layout (starter layout "thrColLiqHdr")
    in DW CS3 and I want the sidebars up from the header down to the footer in one
    color. The CSS-code of the sidebars is the following:

    Thanks a lot for any answer and help

    .thrColLiqHdr #sidebar1 {
    float: left;
    width: 22%;
    background: #EBEBEB;
    padding: 15px 0;
    }
    .thrColLiqHdr #sidebar2 {
    float: right;
    width: 23%;
    background: #EBEBEB;
    padding: 15px 0;
    }
    .thrColLiqHdr #sidebar1 p, .thrColLiqHdr #sidebar1 h3, .thrColLiqHdr
    #sidebar2 p, .thrColLiqHdr #sidebar2 h3 {
    margin-left: 10px;
    margin-right: 10px;
    }

    Using liquid layout, it would be impossible to do that. The sidebars background
    color will only go to the end of the content for them. If the main column is
    longer, then the sidebars will come up short. If you use a fixed width, then
    you can do this with an image. You can search the forum here to find out how to
    do that.

    Hi polar_bare,

    thanks a lot for your answer. When I get it right, then the only chance to do
    that, is giving the sidebars some width and a repeating background-image. I
    will have a look around in the forum to find this article that you mentioned.
