Hello all. I'm a sysadmin at a school -- we do announcements every
morning over closed-circuit TV, and the administration wants me to put
them up so parents can see archived broadcasts over the web. I've been
doing some work on this, and I think the best way to do it is for me to
do a live video feed over the internet, have that feed captured and
saved, then automatically archived, so that people can view past days,
say for up to a week.

I've done a bit of work with flash before, but I'm just having a hell
of a time wrapping my head around the whole thing.

My first question is whether this is really a possibility. I know that
I could just capture the video, convert it to FLV, then stream that.
But what I'm not certain about is whether I can stream that video.
It'll be a feed from a capture card, not from one specific camera.

I'm also having a difficult time kind of understanding how the FlashCom
server is going to work. I've tried putting some FLVs on there and
referencing them, but no luck so far. Is there any good documentation,
other than what's included with the installer, that I can look to?

I appreciate any help you all can give me.

Mark
