    Default Loadkeys: error loading keymap.

    Hello,

I would like to load a personalized keymap using loadkeys but when I
run the program its output is:

    Loading per.kmap.gz
Couldnt get a file descriptor referring to the console

I am connecting to the system through PuTTY, and I have tried
already differentet identification strings (linux, xterm, ansi, vt,
etc.) with no luck. The output of tty is: /dev/pts/32 (the terminal
    number changes).

    Thanks kindly.

Loadkeys sets the keymap for the console (when you are at the keyboard
of the Linux box, and not using X). Try xmodmap.

Um. loadkeys is for the *console*, not ssh sessions. You have to run
loadkeys from a virtual console that isn't running X AFAICT. You'd have
much better luck modifying PuTTY's keymaps, wherever they are. I don't
have a WIndows machine with me right now though so I can't test this.
