Login Help
I'm creating a webstie which requires users to login but I don't have much
experience. The page that I have created is in html form. I've added the login
and password text areas, a login button, and a form; i have selected the
document type to be php. After I have set this up it tells me that there is no
table found. I need some help with this one, please if you know how to add
login areas to a website reply to my topic. Thanks in advance!

Re: Login Help
in order to this I think you will need a database to store the user name and
password. or you can use "flat files" otherwise the "System will not remember
the pass owrd and username.
Need to read_read and then go get coffee and soda and read somemore. I'm in
the process of creating login pages for my site. have all kinds of fun:). Good
luck

Re: Login Help
basically you need:
0.- select a server model (PHP, ASP, JSP,...). it'll depend on wich
server your site will be hosted
1.- a Database with a table containing the same fields you have in your
register form
2.- connect to the DB
3.- before login, users need to register. so, you'll need a register
page where people introduce login, password & any other data you decide
(email, ...)
4.- login page
take a look at DW help: Page with restricted access

Re: Login Help
What server are you using? With the lack of experience with db's you may find
it easier just to setup a protected area on you server. Not latest and
greatest tool, but very simple. ie search for "protected area apache". This
method has nothing to do with Dreamweaver and will take care of the user input
for you. Good luck.

Re: Login Help
If your using PHP, and have access to a MySQL database then my PHP Login
Suite extension would help you create a complete login system, using either
session variables or cookies.
More info at http://www.phploginsuite.co.uk/ . The manuals available as a
free download in Adobe PDF format so you can see exactly what the suite can
do.

Re: login help
Store their data in a database - when they login pull that required data and display it.
The primary topics you will need to study up on are CFQUERY, SQL, and CFOUTPUT, amongst others.

Re: login help
Hi, Thanks for your reply i have the data stored in a database the problem i am
having though is showing the data to only the user that is logged in so that
each user when logged in will be looking at just their own data.
