Default logrotate-3.5.2

I downloaded the binary version of logrotate-3.5.2 for Solaris 8 from
www.sunfreeware.com

I have installed it on a my Solaris 8 machine and set up the config file as
per the man pages and doents.

When I run the program I get the following error messages

##R##-gauss->[110] ##> cat /etc/logrotate.config
/var/log/messages {
rotate 15
}

##R##-gauss->[111] ##> !105
logrotate -d -s /etc/logrotate.status /etc/logrotate.config
reading config file /etc/logrotate.config
reading config info for /var/log/messages {
error: /etc/logrotate.config:1 unexpected text
error: /etc/logrotate.config:2 lines must begin with a keyword or a filename
(possibly in double quotes)
error: /etc/logrotate.config:3 lines must begin with a keyword or a filename
(possibly in double quotes)
error: /etc/logrotate.config:4 lines must begin with a keyword or a filename
(possibly in double quotes)

I like this program because it is part of RH Linux but does not do much good
if it does not work on Solaris.

Does anyone out their use logrotate?

What is causing the error in my config file?

Thanks

Robert

That is unique; Solaris 8 and 9 both syslog messages in /var/adm.
