long pathname error
Hi All,
I am getting this error from a projctor:
Director player Error:Unable to load movie playlist. Does the .INI file
exist? It must contain a section ["Movies"] with an entry
'Movie01=pathname.dir'.
Looked it up in the tech notes and it gives this answer:
This issue occurs when the file path of a projector exceeds 126
characters. The file path includes the drive letter or name, all folders
beneath that drive, and the file name. So, for example, if the file was
located in the root directory of drive C, the path would be
'C://filename.exe'. The preceding path contains 16 characters.
OS:Windows NT 3.51, Windows 2000, Windows 98
That all makes sense, though it is causes me a whole world of grief, but
the problem is that I get this error with pathnames shorter than 126
characters, and the length that causes the problem varies between win98
and win2K.
Does anyone have any experience dealing with this?
Thanks for any suggestions,
Chip
