Loops within stored procedures - Microsoft SQL / MS SQL Server

Hello everybody, I wonder if someone can advise me on how to pass parameters to a stored procedure that come from another query/stored procedure. I am trying to pass a member's of staff's initials as a parameter. The first recordset returned therefore will be something like: Initials SC DF GH TR AC RC and I want to in turn pass each of these initials to another stored procedure that accepts the initials as a parameter. I'm sure that it's quite easy and I wonder if someone can point me in the right direction. Very many thanks. Shane...

    Default Loops within stored procedures

    Hello everybody,

I wonder if someone can advise me on how to pass parameters to a stored
procedure that come from another query/stored procedure.

I am trying to pass a member's of staff's initials as a parameter.

The first recordset returned therefore will be something like:

    Initials
    SC
    DF
    GH
    TR
    AC
    RC

and I want to in turn pass each of these initials to another stored
procedure that accepts the initials as a parameter.

I'm sure that it's quite easy and I wonder if someone can point me in the
    right direction.

    Very many thanks.

There is no straight-forward way to do this. If you can convert this list of
initials to a comma seperated value (which is quite easy), then the solution
    located at http://www.algonet.se/~sommar/arrays-in-sql.html or
    http://vyaskn.tripod.com/passing_arrays_to_stored_procedures.htm might help
    you.
