    Default losing value on redirect

    I'm losing a value on a redirect. I have a form field value set as follows:
    <input name='ay' type='text' id='ay'
    value='<%=(rsHdr.Fields.Item('ABR_AY').Value)%>' size='8' maxlength='8'
    readonly='true'> I do some processing of the form data on another page and
    then redirect back to the form. When this happens, the above form field value
    gets dumped. Is using a session variable the only way to keep the value? Is
    there another way? I'm looking for the simpliest way to persist the value
    through the redirect. Thanks, -D-

    Default Re: losing value on redirect

    You'll have to pass the form data around if you still want it. Passing it
    via the query string is the usual option.
    i.e., your redirect:
    Response.Redirect("myForm.asp?ay="&Request.Form("a y"))

    The value appears to be coming from a recordset, though, so the real
    question is why your recordset no longer contains the data it once did. Is
    that expected behavior? If yes, then you'll have to use the query string;
    if not, fix the recordset.
