Lost access to FW drive. Suggestions appreciated!
I unplugged a (fairly old) Acom FW 400 drive without ejecting the icon (duh...), and now I cannot get it to show up on either of 2 G4s (TiBook and a DP tower running 10.2.8). I have tried restarts and the like, and the drive still is not visible under OS 10.2.8. or under OS 9.2.2 Apple disk utilities.
Any help would be appreciated, such as any third party utilities I might obtain and run. This drive is not critical, but I do at some point need the data on it.
The drive also has a USB connection, so if necessary I can make a USB hookup if that might fool it.
TIA

Does it spin up? Is the firewire card functioning properly? Try USB before you panic.

Yes it spins and everything externally behaves normally. The drive had not been intentionally accessed for hours at the time the FW connection was unplugged. I will try USB.

Re: Lost access to FW drive. Suggestions appreciated!
FIXED! Per Mark's suggestion the USB hookup worked fine. Then I ejected the drive properly, shut down, reconnected via FW and restarted. All is well now.
Thanks!
