Lost images, need help on easy finding

Ok, I have a bunch of people working on some pages for a publication. They are often editing and inserting images. Often they come in with a clip drive or use their own folder on the network as the image source even though I have told them where to save them. Then I save the pages to a CD and of course the images don't show up any more. Is there a way that anyone knows of how to find the path to where Illustrator thinks the images are stored from within the file.

This sounds like the missing images may have been linked only, not embedded and when they transfered their files, the linked images didn't go with the Illustrator file.

If they are linked images as opposed to embedded, is there a way for me to find out the path to the location of the image without me searching all possible folders. Can you determine, for example, the file name and its location?

Try this: Open one of these files. Control A to Select All, then in Window\Document Info check the options arrow head (top right of palette menu) and click on Linked Images. You'll get the original path to the file, but that's pointing to where it was when it was included in the document, and on the machine that created the document, not where it may be now.
