Thank you very much. First one didn't work - hit tab and the two I had went, hit it again and the same two came back - but now I know it is called Layers Palette. Second didn't work - no 'layers' in 'view'. But third did the job a treat, I now have all three again - all I have to do now is remember what to do if it happens again! Do you know what made it disappear in the first place? Barbara
